Day 5 In Rome

Our 5th day in Rome was relatively laid-back, but full of promise; we had our second cooking class and were going to be moving to our final place to stay- The Waldorf! We left our bags at the B&B for the morning and headed off to the Testacio Market to meet our teacher Daniela and buy supplies...

Daniela at the meat counter

Fresh cheese at the market

Local produce

We left the market and headed to Daniela's house- this is her kitchen

Bay leaves growing in the backyard :)

The next step was gathering our remaining supplies from the cupboard

Ladyfingers for our tiramisu...

...and cocoa powder of course!

Daniela's assistant, me, and the Chef :)

Vince was a natural pasta-roller

Saltimbocca

Bacon-wrapped prunes with balsamic glaze

Baked ricotta and fresh bruschetta

Our ravioli

The saltimbocca and stuffed eggplant

We finished with tiramisu and dessert wine, said our fond farewells
to Daniela and her assistant, and headed out to enjoy the afternoon

Beautiful! We eventually got less-full, so it was
time to gather our things and check in at the Waldorf

Our room!

Vince and I spent the rest of the day relaxing, exploring the hotel grounds, re-organizing
our bags, and doing laundry. It was a peaceful ending to another great day
